This is not just any peach tree. Prunus persica ‘Vaes Oogst’ is a variety developed with strong garden performance in mind. It is valued for its earlier-season fruiting, dependable cropping, and good flavour, making it a reliable choice for temperate home gardens.
In spring, the tree produces an abundance of pink blossoms that bring life to the garden and attract bees, butterflies, and other pollinators. These flowers are the first promise of the summer harvest to come.
By mid to late summer, often from late August or even earlier depending on local conditions, the tree produces peaches with white flesh and a juicy, sweet flavour. When grown in full sun, the fruit develops an attractive red blush.
Because ‘Vaes Oogst’ is self-fertile, it sets fruit independently without requiring a second peach tree nearby. This makes it especially suitable for gardens where space allows for only a single planting.
Peach trees thrive in warm, sunny positions. Plant this dwarf form in full sun and fertile, well-drained soil so it can establish well and develop toward a generous summer crop. A sheltered location is particularly beneficial, especially in seasons when late spring frosts may affect early blossoms.
