Capsicum chinense
Origin: A rare chilli variety developed in the United Kingdom, selected from the Dorset Naga line
Flavour: Extremely hot with a fruity aroma and subtle floral notes
Best place to grow: Greenhouse, polytunnel, or a warm, sheltered outdoor spot with full sun
Fun Fact: Dorset Pink is known for its distinctive pink colouring at maturity, which is unusual among super-hot chillies
Shape, size & colour: Produces medium-sized, wrinkled pods that ripen from green to pale pink
Applications: Ideal for hot sauces, chilli pastes, drying, and extreme heat cooking in very small quantities
Planting Period: February to April (indoors)
Maturity Period: 100–120 days from sowing
