Peach trees are one of those classic fruit trees that make a garden feel truly alive. Prunus persica ‘Wassenberger’ is a well-known variety valued for its sweet, juicy fruit and reliable performance in temperate gardens.

This dwarf peach remains more compact and manageable than standard orchard trees, making it ideal for smaller gardens, courtyard spaces, or even large containers when given sufficient sun and root space. Its size makes pruning, care, and harvesting considerably easier.

In spring, ‘Wassenberger’ produces beautiful pink blossoms that attract pollinators and announce the beginning of the fruit season. These flowers develop into flavourful peaches with an attractive red blush and a rich, sweet taste. Harvest typically takes place in late summer, often from late August into early September depending on the season.

‘Wassenberger’ is self-fertile, meaning it can set fruit independently without the need for a second peach tree nearby, which makes it particularly suitable for gardens with limited space.

For best results, plant in a sunny, sheltered position with fertile, well-drained soil. Like all peaches, it benefits from warmth and protection from late spring frosts while in bloom.
